1. Overview

Cortx AI ("the App") is developed and operated by Okay Kacar.

Your privacy matters. Cortx AI is designed to help you record, transcribe, and summarize audio using artificial intelligence. The app collects only limited and anonymized data necessary to function properly and improve user experience.

Important: Transcriptions and summaries generated by Cortx AI are AI-processed content. Results are produced by artificial intelligence models (OpenAI Whisper for transcription, GPT-4 for summarization) and may not be 100% accurate.

2. Data We Collect

When you use Cortx AI, we collect:

• Usage and interaction data, such as app launches, screen views, taps, navigation, and feature usage
• Technical diagnostics data, such as crash reports and performance metrics
• Purchase-related events, such as paywall views and completed purchases, without access to payment or billing details
• Transcription metadata, such as recording duration, language detected, and processing success/failure rates (not the actual audio content or transcripts)

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, contact lists, or precise location data.

3. Audio Recordings and Content

Cortx AI allows you to record audio, upload audio files, input text, and provide web links for AI processing.

• Audio recordings are sent to our AI processing servers for transcription
• Audio is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored on our servers after processing completes
• Transcripts and summaries are returned to your device and stored locally
• You can delete any note, transcript, or recording at any time
• We do not use your audio recordings, transcripts, or summaries to train AI models
• Text inputs and web link content are processed the same way — not stored after processing

4. AI-Generated Content Disclosure

All transcriptions and summaries created through Cortx AI are generated by artificial intelligence.

• Transcriptions are produced by OpenAI Whisper and may contain errors or inaccuracies
• Summaries are generated by GPT-4 and represent an AI interpretation of the content
• Speaker identification is AI-based and may not always be accurate
• Users should verify important information from AI-generated transcripts and summaries
• Cortx AI is not a substitute for professional transcription services in legal or medical contexts

5. Authentication and Identifiers

Cortx AI supports Apple Sign In for optional account creation. The app also uses a persistent device identifier for users who do not sign in.

• Apple Sign In: If you choose to sign in, we receive your Apple ID, name, and email (if shared). This is managed through Apple's secure authentication system.
• Device identifier: A random, anonymous identifier tied to your device for tracking token balance, purchases, and note management

The device identifier:

• Cannot be used to identify you personally
• Is not linked to your real-world identity (unless you sign in with Apple)
• Is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking

6. Third-Party Services

To operate the app, we rely on trusted third-party services:

• AI transcription and summarization (OpenAI — Whisper and GPT-4)
• In-app purchases and subscription management (RevenueCat, Apple)
• Backend infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers)
• Authentication (Apple Sign In)

These services process data only as required to provide their functionality and in accordance with their own privacy policies.

We do not sell user data or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

11. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and HMAC-SHA256 signature verification for all API calls. Audio is transmitted through secure, authenticated channels. Device-level authentication ensures only your device can access your notes and token balance.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
